This award recognises individuals or groups who celebrate and preserve our cultural, built, and community heritage. It honours those who protect traditions, stories, customs, and historic places—keeping community spirit alive and ensuring our shared history and identity continue to inspire future generations.
Projects considered include but are not limited to the following:
Art and Painting: Initiatives that capture local stories, landscapes, or cultural identity through visual arts, murals, or exhibitions.
Writing, Stories and Music: Projects that record, share, or reinterpret community stories, songs, or oral histories, ensuring they are passed on to future generations.
Food and Cooking Traditions: Efforts that preserve traditional recipes, cooking methods, or cultural food events that bring people together.
Community and Local Projects: Activities that strengthen community connections, restore heritage sites, or celebrate local identity and pride.
History and Heritage: Research, restoration, or educational projects that protect and promote historical knowledge, buildings, or artefacts.
Festivals and Celebrations: Events that showcase cultural diversity, honour local traditions, or revive long-standing community customs.
